China Legal Counsel or Sr. Legal Counsel

Roles & Responsibilities
As the sole legal counsel in our China office, you will work independently and be responsible for all kinds of legal matters in the greater China region, covering the following:
1. IP licensing
(1)    Working closely with the sales team and other business units in negotiating licensing deals with customers, and drafting and reviewing software/technology licensing agreements  
(2)    Evaluating legal risks of new business opportunities
2. IP protection and enforcement
(1)    Advising on intellectual property rights enforcement and protection strategies in China
(2)    Advising on, leading and managing all types of legal actions related to intellectual property rights, including C&D letters, administrative enforcement, civil actions, arbitration, criminal prosecution etc.
(3)    Handling intellectual property rights registration
3. FCPA and compliance
(1)    Providing FCPA education to all staff in China and ensuring implementation of FCPA policies
(2)    Monitoring all business units and departments to ensure good compliance with local laws and regulations
(3)    Working with internal auditors and compliance officers from the headquarters to confirm compliance
4. Contract examination
(1)    Drafting and reviewing local contracts related to HR, finance, office purchasing, office management, IT etc.
(2)    Working closely with all departments and teams in China office to ensure good performance of executed contracts and protect the best interests of the company
5. Employment and labor issues
(1)    Working closely with HR to ensure labor relations are well maintained
(2)    Handling terminations appropriately and in conformity with local laws and regulations
(3)    Handling labor disputes and managing relevant risks
6. Management of external attorneys, entity existence & representation
(1)    Managing external attorneys as well as investigation and law enforcement agencies to ensure the expected results of legal actions can be achieved
(2)    Keeping track of all licenses held by the company to ensure continuing validity
(3)    Representation at various government bodies, organizations and industry bodies  
7. Office management
(1)    As a member of the management team, managing China office together with other members to process daily management matters and improve working environment and employee engagement
(2)  Giving legal training to all staff regarding corporate legal policies

Qualifications
We expect you to have the following qualifications:
1.    A law degree from a top law school in China or from the USA
2.    5-8 years’ experience as an attorney at a top international law firm and/or as a senior legal counsel in a well-known multinational company
3.    Rich experience in processing legal issues related to IP licensing and IP protection and enforcement
4.    A lawyer’s license in China and ideally passed a bar examination in the USA
5.    Excellent English skills both in legal drafting and speaking
6.    Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving expertise
7.    Capacity to work independently and provide satisfying legal advice to both internal and external clients
8.    Strong sense of integrity and ownership, and sound legal and business judgment


Multimedia Software Development Engineer-Android

Main Responsibilities:
-    Technical leadership in developing software RMHD(Real Media High Definition) media codec and media players for internet video streaming client and content encoding
-    Coding using C, C++,Java and integrate software components in mobile and PC frameworks such as IOS, Android and Windows
-    Conduct code review and apply suitable methodology to ensure high-quality delivery.
-    Work and synergize with software system architects and technology manager to secure on-time  delivery of the projects
-    Provide technical consultation to customers

Qualifications:
-    Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Communication or Electronic Engineering. Master degree will be preferred.
-    3+ years in the field of video technology ranging from codec implementation, video player and streaming framework, familiar with ffmpeg.
-    3+ years of working experience with Android (multimedia) frameworks
-    Must be proficient in C/C++ and be able to demonstrate good software craftsmanship. Experience in other coding languages such as Java, ObjC, Python are highly desirable
-    Ability to read and write in English and Chinese and able to communicate to stakeholders at all levels.

Codec Development Engineer- Assembly optimization

Main Responsibilities:
-  Develop RMHD (RealMedia High Definition) codec technology.
-  Develop real-time software encoder with product team.
-  Develop next-generation video codec and obtain essential patents.
-  Co-work with overseas team members from US and China.

Qualifications:
-  4+ year R&D experience in video codec software/algorithm development.
-  M.S in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or similar area is a must.
-  Familiar with one of the following video compression standards: H.265, H.264, VP9, AVS2, and RV10/RMVB.
-  Familiar with x86 platform assembly optimization: SSE2, SSE4, MMX.
-  Familiar with ARMv7/ARMv8 platform assembly optimization.
-  Solid programming and debugging skills in C/C++ languages
-  First-hand experience in real-time H.265 encoding development is a big plus.

Codec Development Engineer- Multithread

Qualifications:
-  5+ year R&D experience in video codec software/algorithm development or equivalent academic experience
-  M.S or Ph.D in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or similar area is a must.
-  Familiar with one of the following video compression standards: H.265, H.264, VP9, AVS2, and RV10.
-  Solid programming and debugging skills in C/C++ languages

At least two of the following first-hand experiences are required:
-  Experience in software encoder speedup for embedded system.
-  Experience in GPU acceleration with OpenCL, CUDA, or QuickSync.
-  Experience in x86 or ARMv7/v8 assembly optimization
-  Experience in multi-thread video codec architecture.
-  Expert-level understanding in x264, x265, VP9, or HM source code.

IP Product Marketing Manager/Consultant

Main Responsibilities主要职责:
1.  Deeply understand target customers and market requirements
•    Deeply understanding on China’s downloadable and streaming video industry. Have the big picture on the ecosystem, and be acquainted (either directly or easy to get access ) with  Chipset Vendors, OEM’s, Carries, Content Providers and Service Provides.
•    Understand customer processes, video applications, and challenges.  Articulate current and future unmet needs. The targeted devices are Smart TV’s, tablets OTT/IPTV STB’s , in-car entertainment  devices. The targeted services are on line video streaming services.  
•    Develop direct relationships with key players/customers with the aim of collecting feedback used in product/feature development
•    Understand long term industry trends and how they will effect product requirements
•    Analyze competitions, identify gaps and opportunities,  and track market shares
2. Study new market opportunities and develop business cases for new features and products
•    Identify industry problems and conceptualize products and enhancements to solve those problems
•    Document and articulate the full solution
•    Investigate revenue potential, and develop distribution strategy to capitalize on the revenue potential
•    Summarize the opportunity in the form of the business case
•    Work with the management team to make invest/don’t invest decisions
3. Develop marketing requirements documents
•    Communicate product roadmaps to sales and customers
4. Manage product profitability
•    Support sales with large deals
•    Set pricing to ensure target margins
•    Meet revenue and margin commitments
5. Formulate go-to-market plans and work with product manager to execute the plan
•    Lead development group go-to-market (create SKUs, pricing, user manuals)
•    Aid marketing group in the launch (product presentations, sales training, PR, datasheets, web page updates, tradeshows, etc.)
•    Support trials and early customers
6. Work effectively as part of a highly matrixed team
•    Represent global needs and opportunities for directly assigned products
•    Represent specific needs of the China market for all RMHD products
•    Work effectively with the Chinese IP Sales team as well as Global Sales team
•    Work effectively with the rest of the product marketing group in Seattle
•    Work effectively with the business operations team in China
7. Accountability
•    Projects completed on time
•    Revenue goals achieved
•    New product business case objectives met
•    Positive feedback from dependent groups (sales, product manager, business operations, management, etc)

Qualifications资质要求:
Education    
Bachelor or Master Degree (Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred).  MBA highly desired.
Chinese and English (desired)

Experience
10+ years or overall business experience, 5 years in product marketing function
Functional experience
•    Possess an unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
•    Enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market
•    Combine analytic and communication skills with an understanding of product marketing techniques  
•    Serve as the evangelist ( both internal as external ) for your product offering

Technical experience
•    Experience with video codec ( H.264/H.265, AVS, … ) and codec technologies (RTSP, HTTP Streaming, servers, encoders, codec, …  
•    Experience with VR technology is a plus
•    Experience with device media software (Android, Windows, iOS)

Market experience
•    Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and non-customers
•    Defining a products “ go-to-market “ strategy, in particular the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
•    Analyze potential partner relations for the product
